Weekend 4: San Francisco's Food Variety

San Francisco is a hub of awesome food, and in our two days there, we were able to sample a wide variety of foods.

We started at Burma Superstar. We ordered ginger lemonade and a thai iced tea.

Then, we tried the chicken noodle coconut soup, which is my favorite. It was creamy and full of noodles, egg, chicken, and veggies.

Then we tried a rice pot dish with prawns and chicken. It was nutty and cinnamon-y.

We also had the noodle salad, which was simple and very fresh.

The next day we hung out at the farmer's market at the Ferry Building which is massive. I found some lavender lemonade that I recognize from Palo Alto, plus we ran into Cowgirl Creamery again inside the building and had the creamiest hot chocolate and cheese tasted again!

For dinner we ate at a tiny restaurant in Little Italy which reminded me of my last two summers there. We tried the Salmon Carapacio for starters...

followed by potato ravioli (which were awesome!)

and braised pork with potatoes and veggies.

In the evening, we went to Ghirardelli Square to taste chocolate and a hot brownie sunday. Yum Yum.

Last but not least, we went to Tartine Bakery for Sunday's breakfast.

We ordered....
the morning bun

a lemon bar,

a berry tart,

the chocolate croissant and the regular croissant,

a chocolate hazelnut tart with a twist of orange flavor in it,

plus hot chocolate!

It was a delicious weekend.

Weekend 3: Point Reyes's Best Cheese

Apart from the fun camping and hiking, Point Reyes has a nice selection of nearby food. After a day of hiking and camping, we went to an early breakfast at Tomales Bakery. As usual we ordered tons and tons of food...

starting with the cinnamon stick,

then the scone (which may have been David's favorite)

followed by a chocolate devil. Look at those insides!

Next up, we hit the farmer's market, which was full of delicious things that we were way too full to try. After we were ready to eat again, we went to Cowgirl Creamery for lunch.

We started with cheese tasting. We loved the Mt. Tam, Red Hawk, and Wagon Wheel. In addition to tasting the Cowgirl Creamery cheeses, you can taste a number of other cheeses from all over the world. Then we ordered a lunch of tomato soup made with Cowgirl Creamery Creme Fraiche

and the Mac and Cheese made with Mt. Tam and Wagon Wheel cheese, both of which were delicious.

Definitely worth the trip! Plus, check out next week's post on San Francisco with more Cowgirl Creamery plus some other fun food!
